Are you good soil?

“Therefore hear the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” [Matthew 13:18-23] NKJV The Parable of the sower.

Notice how the seed was received on the good ground. What makes ground good? For plants to grow richly, the ground needs to be filled with nutrients. If you grow plants at home you would use compost. In the process of compost, which is rich soil, microorganisms (bacteria, fungi) break down organic waste. Compost is literally organic trash. What does that have to do with us?

The good soil is all the trash in your life, all the dirty things you’ve done, your sins and your iniquities. God uses your life to make good ground. God prepares your heart to receive Jesus Christ. Not only does the ground have to be filled with nutrients, it needs to be firm to hold itself together but loose enough to allow roots to grow. I like that the scripture says receives. You yourself must receive the gift of God. You must come to a point in your life where you recognize that you are a sinner and you need a savior. That is when the trash in your life is gathered into compost. The trash is made into good soil. Your heart of stone has been turned into a heart of flesh!

Are you good soil?

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. [Ezekiel 36:26] NKJV

Now in verse 23 of the parable, But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. after the seed is planted it bears fruit and PRODUCES! Some hundredfold, some sixty and even some thirty. The seed becomes a plant, you are the plant! Then the plant makes fruit which the fruit is able to be planted as seeds. You, a plant (A CHRISTIAN) should be spreading your seed!

Preach the Word! [2 Timothy 4:2] NKJV

Make disciples of all nations! [ Matthew 28:19] NKJV

DO NOT be a buttercup christian. DO NOT let your faith die with you.

Wednesday fellowship

not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. [Hebrews 10:25] NKJV

Wednesday Fellowship – ByOneOffering at Zebulun ZCDC

Wednesday Fellowship is where we assemble together on three main goals. (1) Prayer (2) Accountability (3) Biblical application

(1) Everyone participates with praying over each other after hearing testimonies and struggles.

(2) Honesty is of importance for keeping each other accountable with their walk faith. Giving each other hope.

(3) Learning of biblical teaching and applying it to their lives. Walking in faith and leaning not on your own understanding.

By assembling together we strengthen each other. As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
[Proverbs 27:17] NKJV

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. [2 Corinthians 9:6-8] NKJV
